Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about our platform, product features, and how we can help you deploy multi-camera visual AI.
Awareye AI can solve a wide variety of use cases for many different industries and applications. For example, it can do surveillance for security and threat detection, monitor and provide analytics for warehouse, logistics, and inventory management, and provide defect detection and quality control for manufacturing. These are just a few ways Awareye AI can help automate vision tasks. Contact us to discuss how Awareye AI can help you.
The type of camera depends on the use case, ranging from a simple $100 consumer camera for general surveillance to a high-end microscopic camera costing several thousand dollars for manufacturing defect detection. Awareye AI works with any camera that provides a digital feed. When you choose Awareye, you receive camera recommendations, purchasing, and installation services. If you already have suitable cameras, we can configure Awareye AI to work with them, preventing repeat costs.
Awareye AI works with any camera that provides a streaming video in RTSP format, including most CCTV and IP cameras. Some use cases may require special cameras; for example, license plate reading works best with bullet cameras with auto-focus capabilities, and manufacturing defect detection requires microscopic cameras. Our solution design team can recommend the right camera for your use case. You can purchase them from your vendor, or Awareye can provide them. If you already have the appropriate cameras installed, Awareye AI can start working without requiring any replacements.
In a medium-sized setup, the solution operates with a single Awareye AI server deployed either on-premises or in the cloud. If cameras are installed in different physical locations, each site will need its own on-premises server with on-premises deployment. Alternatively, a cloud deployment can centralize all cameras under one logical site. Wired cameras are preferred to avoid WiFi congestion, although gigabit WiFi routers with WiFi-6+ can manage the load of a medium-sized setup easily.
Large enterprise setups require multiple Awareye AI servers in a mesh setup, each handling approximately 20 cameras. Cloud deployment is not feasible for large setups, which instead use on-premise deployment across multiple sites. WiFi is impractical due to high bandwidth demands, necessitating wired networking. Dedicated NAS devices with camera schedules are used for double backup and load optimizations.
